John Lewis revival mugs

Pots and mugs

We've featured the John Lewis Revival furniture range previously including its mid-century inspired sideboard. You can now get the mugs to go with the furniture too, with their Revival mug range

Like the furniture, the designs are very much influenced by the 1950s and 60s, such as with the Pots and Pans mug pictured which features sketchily drawn ceramics. The other mugs are covered in more naturally inspired designs with the elm leaf and the seed mug.

Each mug costs £5.

Beach Hut Mugs

Beachhutmug

Beach Huts have become a symbol of the quintessential British holiday, but images of them can either take on a melancholic air of a seaside town in decline or a cheerful reminder of happy summer holidays. Firmly in the latter jolly category are these Beach Hut Mugs.

The fine bone china mug is decorated with a row of three stripey huts, in a choice of dark blue, pink, red or pale blue. The mugs are sold individually so you can mix n match or co-ordinate as you like.

They cost £9.25 from Florestine, a website that specialises in seaside-inspired designs.

Eames Dots mugs at Utility Design

Eames

Want to get a knowing nod off your design-savvy workmates? Get yourself an Eames Dots mug.

The design itself dates back to 1947, Charles and Ray Eames produced it originally for a cotton fabric as part of a competition at the Museum of Modern Art. it didn't actually get used 'back in the day', but has since been unearthed and used widely on recent designs, like this one.

The mugs are China mugs, with the design used with the approval of the Eames estate. Choose from the three colours above, each selling for £8.

Lotta Kuhlhorn pear mugs

Lotta pear

It was only earlier this week we showed you Lotta Kühlhorn's jazzy lindyhop coasters. Here's another design from her, suitable for decorating the retro home, these attractive pear mugs

Like the products featuring her apple design, she uses a simplified, colourful version of the fruit. The pears come in bright pop shades of red, yellow and pink, as well as the more traditional green. Use them them next to your Orla Kiely pear mugs in the kitchen for a very fruity cup of tea.

The mugs cost £7.25 each.
