LP cushions by The Grateful Thread

As part of our ongoing list of things for the home that look like records, you may want to take a look at these LP cushions, made by the wonderfully named The Grateful Thread.

Each cushion is made from soft fleece in the shape and style of a vinyl LP. The fun is definitely in the details with these cushions. Embroidery is used to create the album title and artwork with, for example, the Sofa Chillin' version pictured resembling a Sun Record. That not to your taste? Take a look at the Rockabilly and Sweet Dreams designs which are also available.

Gainsbourg heads to DVD and Blu-ray

Not long out of the cinema, the recent biopic of Serge Gainsbourg, which went by the name of Gainsbourg, is heading to DVD and Blu-ray in a matter of weeks.

Both are set for release on 10th January 2011, so you might want to save some of your Christmas money if you were a fan of the movie when it went round the cinemas – or you missed it first time round. It had mixed reviews, some people loving it, others disappointed – but if you're still reading now, I suspect you're one of the former.

Sex, Tea and Rock n Roll Tea Bags

This is possibly one of the silliest items I’ve seen in some time, but Christmas is coming and we are partial to a cup of tea, so I thought I would share these with you.

The Sex, Tea and Rock n Roll Tea Bags are part of the Tea Party series by German company Donkey Products. Quite simply, each tea bag has a cardboard image of a famous person instead of the the usual string and tab. In this case, the characters are icons from music; Elvis, Hendrix, Lennon, Jackson and Marley. There is also a classic film themed set consisting of Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, John Wayne, Charlie Chaplin and I’m guessing Boris Karloff as Frankenstein's monster, as well as other themes such as politics, peace, Christmas and royalty.

A set of five tea party bags costs €7.95 (around £7) from Donkey Products.

Classic Album Remix Prints

Remember the Mona Lisa Revamp print we featured a couple of months back? Now, the designer, Graphic Nothing, has turned their attention to classic album covers.

Pictured here is the Velvet Underground Remix, but Thriller, Technique and Nevermind have also received a similar treatment, with their designs reduced to a series of coloured dots. The prints measure 29cm squared and cost £25 (£28 including postage within the UK)

As well as coasters, book-ends, Christmas tree decorations and actually listening to the stuff, it seems there's another vinyl-inspired item available for the home: this vinyl chopping board.

Yes, this board comes in the shape of a traditional vinyl record. Rather than having the song title and artist on the label, it's decorated with a nice, bright picture of a tomato instead.
