Stig Lindberg Prunus dinnerware

Prunus

Another distinctive design to add to the list of Stig Lindberg re-issues is the Prunus dinnerware

This design comes slightly later than many of his other re-issued ranges: it was originally manufactured between 1962 and 1974. However, its fruity pattern still looks fresh and is perfect for Spring. The range is still manufactured by Gustavsbergs Porslinsfabrik in Sweden.

Prices start at £38.77 for a small plate.

Birds Nest Plate by Donna Wilson

Donna Wilson bird

We've already seen how Donna Wilson's retro style can transfer onto homewares with her sprig tableware for SCP. There's now more ceramic designs available from her online store, including this Birds Nest plate.

The plate, which is handmade and printed in Stoke on Trent, uses a very 70s image and colour scheme. As with her other pieces – across furniture, textiles and ceramics – it's updated in Wilson's trademark style for the twenty-first century.

This fresh take on a classic motif costs £20.

Happy Camper plate by Jane Jenni

Happy camper

If you know someone who enjoys a spot of camping or just someone who is an all-round cheerful soul, Jane Jenni's Happy Camper plate could be the gift for them.

Reminiscent of a game of Catchphrase, the plate uses the word 'happy' alongside a brightly coloured image of a caravan to represent the phrase, 'Happy Camper'. The simple text, combined with the image, makes it evocative of a retro children's book illustration. The plate is melamine which makes it perfect for actually taking camping too.

The Happy Camper is just one in a whole series of designs executed in the same style around the same idea. So whether one of your family is a 'book worm' or simply you think they are the 'bees knees' or the 'cats meow', this could be the perfect present.

Each plate costs £7.99.
