Exmouth cushion from Habitat

Exmouth cushion

If you're looking forward to summer and an escape to the seaside, you'll probably appreciate the Exmouth cushion from Habitat.

The coastal scene is illustrated in vivid colours and a style that's reminiscent of the classic 1930s railway posters that encouraged you to go and 'See Britain by Train'. It's ideal for inspiring a spot of holiday daydreaming.

The cushion costs just £10.

Retro Scandinavian Style Star Wars Poster

Il_570xN_205582420
Czech Republic-based graphic designer Jan Skácelík has created this great Retro Scandinavian Style Star Wars Poster.

He has taken elements of the original film, Episode IV: A New Hope such as R2D2, a Stormtrooper helmet and a lightsaber, and recreated them in a midcentury style. The poster is available in either yellow or red and in A3 or A2 size. There is also an Empire Strikes Back poster in a similar style, but no Return of the Jedi or  tributes to the more recent trilogy, which Ewok-haters and purists might approve of.

The A3 size poster costs approximately £12 from Etsy.

Bedazzled limited edition poster by Piper Gates Design

Bed1

If you loved The Prisoner by Piper Gates Design recently, chances are you'll also love this latest limited edition poster by the designer, a new take on Bedazzled.

As you might have guessed, this is a tribute to the original Bedazzled, not the nightmare remake. Which means it does, of course, feature one of its stars – the legend that is Peter Cook. Like the recent Prisoner poster, it also uses the format of 1960s Penguin paperback reference books, complete with an old 3'6 price tag on the top.

Just 30 copies of this have been produced, sized at 500mm x 700mm and printed on 194 gram paper, all signed by the artist. If you want one, you can grab one for £24.99. See over the page for an image of one framed up.

Ensemble print from Moxy Creative House

Styleofmusic-full
The story of Rock 'n' Roll has been told in many ways but this Ensemble print from Moxy Creative House uses twenty of music's most stylish dressers. Each musician is represented by one of their most distinctive outfits.

While there are some pretty uninspiring choices on there – Pete Doherty and Brandon Flowers for example – there are lots more that are likely to appeal, crossing musical genres: take your pick from Bob Dylan, Chet Baker, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Elvis, Kiss and Run DMC just for starters. The design is bound to amuse but also to prompt many discussions about its selection (no Bowie? no female stars? etc etc).

You can buy the print showing all twenty outfits together or, if you have a particular favourite, prints of each ensemble are available individually too.

Each print costs $30.
