You can search by using the categories people, places or things. Though their collection is mainly US focused, such as this California postcard which is postmarked 1941, they do also have a selection of vintage UK postcards too.

Classic Faber and Faber covers at Art Meets Print

Faber good dishes

A while ago we wrote about Faber Firsts, new covers of classic Faber and Faber novels, done in styles that echoed the company's 80 years of publishing. Now you can go back to some of their original book jacket designs with these prints available at Art Meets Print. 

They've pulled out some gems from the Faber and Faber archive to reproduce, including this jacket design for 'Good Dishes from Tinned Foods' by Ambrose Heath, just one from the extensive food and drink section. There's also a selection of poetry covers available, featuring the original Pentagram designs. 

Prices depending on the size of your print and whether you choose to have it on canvas or paper. They start at £34.95 for a 30 x 20cm print on canvas of one of the designs and go up to £299 for a 90 x 137.5cm canvas.

Paul Rennie looks at the poster and its impact on all walks of life over the last century, their cultural significance as means of mass communication and how they developed over those years.  The posters cover topics as broad as transport, new towns, art, architecture, the seaside and popular culture, with works from the likes of Paul Nash, Edward Bawden, Edward McKnight Kauffer, Abram Games, Peter Max and Tom Eckersley featured.

Public and corporate artwork is becoming more valuable as the years pass, making Modern British Posters a perfect reference tool as well as an interesting read. Camilla Lundsten is the designer behind Littlephant and her illustrations feature lively cartoon-like illustrations of animals, executed in a 1950s inspired colour scheme. The resulting images are sure to brighten up any room.
