Lexon Safe retro-styled eco radio by Elium Studio

Safe

Eco-friendly radios don't usually come with retro looks – unless you pick up the Lexon Safe eco radio by Elium Studio.

Made of maize bio-plastic and bamboo, this AM/FM radio has the looks of a vintage piece of audio, but has some very modern functionality – with wind-up operation, recharging via the mains or by old-fashioned mains power. You can also hook up your MP3 player if you want to use it as a speaker.

Available online, the Lexon Safe sells for £55.

John Lewis Retro DAB radio

Johnlewis_retro

We have featured specialist John Lewis-branded DAB radios in the past (the bedside DAB and the kitchen DAB to be specific), but the John Lewis Retro DAB radio is an all-rounder, complete with a budget price.

Retro by name and retro by design, an understated glossy case with metal grill, reminiscent of radios from a bygone age. But obviously with that very modern DAB digital radio reception, along with 20 presets, FM reception, a built-in clock and the option of battery or mains power.

Cheap enough at £29.95.
