Going Places kids rug from Designers Guild

Going-places-kids-rug-main
This Going Places rug from Designers Guild is another example of a kid's design that's as desirable for adults too.

It's a colourful design, intended to capture the hustle and bustle of transport in a busy place. That translates into simple outlines of cars and trains, set amongst the backdrop of cars and mountains. Both the subject matter and the treatment of the design are reminiscent of classic transport posters.

Made from acrylic and measuring 120 x 170cm, the rug costs £195.

Topsy turvy

John Lewis have again looked to the past for interiors inspiration, producing this 60s style Topsy Turvy Rug

Following on from the success of their 1950s Honesty rug design, this one looks to the Pop style of the next decade for inspiration, with the repeated pattern of the filled zeros and figure eights. The neutral colours keep this tufted wool number a design that could work in a number of interiors.

Prices are £250 for a 170 x 128cm rug or £475 for 240 x 170cm.

Etoile Home’s 50s-inspired Dorothy, Betty and Tiki rugs

Etoile rugs

Etoile Home have just introduced the Dorothy, Betty and Tiki rugs, inspired by 1950s patterns.

Produced in collaboration with Rug Designers, the rugs all feature bold patterns, evident in the leaf design of Betty, shown on the left hand side of the image and in the florals of the Tiki and the Dorothy design, shown on the right. The rugs come in various colour combinations and are all hand-made from 100% wool.

The patterns get their distinctive names after the aunts of Etoile Home's founder, Shani Beadle. You'll be seeing more of these ladies over the coming months as the prints will be rolled out on other products.

Prices start at £680 for the Tiki rug and £699 for the Betty and Dorothy rugs.

Next retro rug

Next rug

From cushions to table waresNext seem to be really playing up the retro influences with their Spring collection. The latest addition is this retro rug, featuring an abstract pattern in interlocking shapes. The green, grey and yellow colour scheme would work really well in relation to the other products we've featured or, if you want a more dramatic look, it also comes in red.

The down side is that it isn't made from wool, instead made from lookalike acrylic. However, this is reflected in the price which is a bit more affordable than some of the rugs we feature, ranging from £50 to £199 depending on size. The pattern is also available on a runner with prices starting at £50.
