Not a designer piece, but this 1950s midcentury mini sideboard certainly has a 'look' and for not a lot of cash right now.

Horm Oblique Cabinet
The Oblique Cabinet is a piece designed by Salvatore Indriolo for Italian company Horm. It has a wood base in either matt black or matt white, with doors in a Canaletto walnut veneer.
This isn’t by an unusual combination, but what makes this design stand out is the way the doors are arranged, set one over the other. It is available in two heights (66cm or 98cm) with the option of either 3, 4 or 5 doors.
Prices range from £1,881 up to £3,683 from Espacio.
Heal’s Discovers Geometry Sideboard
The Geometry Sideboard by Burgundy Applegate is part of a range of products in the Heal’s Discovers range. It is inspired by both Danish design and Art Nouveau.
It has a solid walnut frame and a lacquered top. It is available with either the patterned front shown here or in plain grey, costing £795 and £695 respectively. It is smaller than most sideboards, so is ideal for rooms tight on space. A side table and coffee table in a similar design are also available should you wish to kit out your whole room in the same way.
They are available to order from Heal’s, although won’t be available for delivery for approximately another 3 months.
eBay watch: 1950s midcentury-style mini sideboard
It could probably be described in various ways, but we're naming it as a mini sideboard, which is up for auction now and still at a modest price.
A 1950s design with a midcentury look, this sideboard or cabinet open to offer up two shelves for storage within, those doors finished off with those contrasting period handles. Also worth noting are those angled legs and overhanging sides, with the veneer said to be 'birch or pear' (no, we don't get the latter either).
According to the seller, the sideboard is in 'very good original condition', with some scratches on the 'top plate' and 'small veneer damage' on top edge of one door (which isn't visible when the door is shut). Price is reasonable right now though, standing at £12.50.
Heal’s Arkiv Storage Unit Oak by John Jenkins
Heal’s celebrates 60 years since it introduced Scandinavian design to its customers with the 1951 exhibition 'Scandinavian Design For Living' with a new range of midcentury Scandinavian-inspired products including the Arkiv Storage Unit Oak by John Jenkins.
John Jenkin’s storage unit updates a 1950s design using a combination of solid oak and white laminate and provides a handy storage solution. The Arkiv range also includes a sideboard (pretty much the storage unit minus the shelving) and a trapezium shaped coffee table.
The storage unit costs £1,995, the sideboard £1,395 and the coffee table £495, all exclusive to Heal’s.
