1960s Radiolaire suspension light by Raoul Raba reissued

Radiolaire

Looking to bring the clouds into your home? Well, the Radiolaire suspension light by Raoul Raba can't quite do that, but it does at least try for the same effect.

Designed by Raba in 1968 and reissued by Designheure, it does indeed offer up a cloud-like structure, or a 'giant flower of light' if you want the official description. Made on a small scale with a significant amount of handcrafting today, the lamp's outer shell is created from polycarbonate, with a base in enamelled steel and around 2m of cable for a drop of pretty much any height.

You can pick one up online, with the Radiolaire retailing for £247.

eBay watch: 1970s chrome and perspex desk lamp

Chrome

I don't know the designer or the designer, but this desk lamp from the 1970s on eBay is quite an interesting little thing.

A desk lamp that screams the era, it stands just under 9 inches tall, with a globe shade made of chrome lacquered white on the inside, while the stem and base are made of a piece of transparent perspex with circular cutouts on each side. There are cut outs at the side, so you can adjust the light.

Described as being 'in good condition and in full working order', the price right now is just 99 pence, which is a bargain any day of the week.

eBay watch: JVC 3240GM Videosphere space age television

Videosphere

An icon of the 1970s, this JVC 3240GM Videosphere space age television is just £1 on eBay right now.

Granted you'll need to get it converted for use to digital (in the UK anyway), but if you can deal with that, this is a fine example. A 'limited' grey version, it's described as being in 'very good' condition and 'hardly used'. A few age scratches being the only issue. But on the plus side, the base and chain are intact.

Not sure how much it will go for in the end, but right now, it's a bargain.

Pebble space age coffee table by Bonaldo

Pebble

Get some 1960s space age into your living room with this eye-catching Pebble coffee table by Bonaldo.

Designed by Matthias Demacker, the table is produced in a plastic material using a rotational moulding technique to create those smooth edges. That material also means you can use it outside if you wish.

Various colour options available for both the outer and inner areas, although all white is certainly the 'classic'. Prices are around £450.

Vasa 1960s-style acrylic sculptures

Vasa

Born in the 1960s, but you can still pick up a distinctive Vasa sculpture for your home today.

Vasa (or Vasa Mihich if you want a full name) is an internationally-known sculptor specialising in 'the three dimensional interactions of light and colour'. In the 60s, Vasa developed techniques for working with cast laminated acrylic forms, which has led to these prism-like structures still available to buy.

The Triangle above is just one example, signed and dated by the artist, with each one offering up colours unique to that piece. If you want to add a psychedelic twist to your home, prices start at £188.

eBay watch: 1970s space age Pfaffle alarm clock lamp

Pfaffle1

A design that could only have come out of the 1970s – this Pfaffle alarm clock lamp, which is up for grabs on eBay for not a lot of cash.

According to the seller, the lamp was designed by Knox for Pfaffle, a mix of chocolate brown plastic for the structure and brushed aluminium for the lamp section. Not just a lamp though – this is an alarm clock too.
