Visit London greeting cards by Hello! Lucky

Visit London
Okay, we've featured a lot of retro-styled London designs recently, but this Visit London greeting card by Hello! Lucky has got to be one of the most charming.

The letterpress design shows the capital looking idyllic, complete with neat townhouses, cute scooters and plush cars, alongside sights such as the Eros statue and Tower Bridge, all executed in a striking black, red and white colour scheme. Hello!Lucky have offices in both London and San Francisco and this card has been designed for them by San Francisco team Lab Partners (you may remember them from their Ode to Pears print), which may account for the tourist's view of the city as show on the cards.

A set of six cards costs £10.20.

Royal gift wrap from Rockett St George

Royal gift wrap

No matter what your opinion is on it, the influence of the royal wedding is creeping onto the high street and inspiring designs such as this royal gift wrap, which is available from Rockett St George

The royals in question on this design date from a little bit further back in the twentieth century – the wrap is covered with reproductions of vintage stamps featuring Edward VII and George V. The pattern created by the colours of the stamps creates an attractive design … perfect for wrapping up a wedding gift.

The paper costs £1.50 a sheet.

Neon Eighties Cards

Zoom_2010_0302sarahswork0153
Stormy Knight Cards has produced a set of greetings cards that hark back to positive exclamations that were particularly popular in the 1980s (although undoubtedly some people do still say these things even now).

The Neon Eighties Cards feature speech bubbles with either “Brill”, “Cool”, “Ace”, “Fab”, “Mega” or “Yeah” in them. To add to the 80s feel, they are rendered in garish neon colours. The cards cost £2.50 each. There is also a matching gift wrap set containing three sheets of wrapping paper and three gift tags, priced £6.95. If the designer happens to read this, I’d be quite interested in a Sixties version with with “hip”, “groovy”, “far out” etc.

The cards can be bought from Stormy Knight Cards via Not on the High Street.

Vintage Mr Men Notebooks

LMV15133-LG
The Vintage Mr Men Notebooks are part of a range of stationery that recall the early incarnations of the popular children’s books.

Whilst Mr Men books are still popular and readily available today, the books today are brighter and more modern looking, which inevitably means they lack some of the charm of the originals. For this collection, the illustrations are taken from the older books and are reproduced in more muted colours. The collection includes an A5 Mr Bump Notebook, A6 Mr Funny Notebook and A6 Little Miss Naughty Address Book.

The Vintage Mr Men collection is in the sale at Campus Gifts, where all of the items the items can be bought for not much more than £5.
