So if you were celebrating 50 years of iconic footwear, what would you do? Well Dr Martens has decided to celebrate this event with a boot-shaped USB drive.

What can we say? well, we can say it looks like the boot that made the company both its name and fortune, a 24-hole boot that opens up to reveal a USB connector for your computer, while the inner boot packs 2GB of storage for any kind of file you need on the go.

The boot is just two inches tall and good for use with both PC and Mac. Price? That' $25 online.

Giant Lego Storage

We have previously featured Lego-like boxes, but these Giant Lego Storage Boxes are produced under license from the toy company itself and sold exclusively by Store.

Like the regular Lego bricks, these can be clicked together to make something bigger. The bricks are available in large (with eight knobbly bits) and medium (with four knobbly bits) and in choice of six colours. As well as two sizes of bricks, the range also include a Giant Lego Man Storage Head, which you can see lurking at the back of pictured here. Whilst I love the boxes, I’m not altogether convinced by the head, finding it rather disturbing, but I can see that it might appeal to some people.

The boxes cost £26 for the large and £17 for the medium, And if it is to your taste, the storage head costs £20. Pre-order them online from Store now for delivery in mid-August.

An interesting design that's not unlike the classic Dodo Designs heads that appeared in The Avengers – the Dolly Storage Jar by Clifford Richards.

Take your pick from various colours (this one is toffee) with that bold retro design printed onto a ceramic creamware jar complete with rubber sealed lid.

Vintage-style Union Jack trunks at Graham and Green

Another new way to try and store your stuff in style with the vintage-style Union Jack trunks at Graham and Green. 

You get two trunks for your money, at differing sizes: the large is 61cm high and the smaller trunk is 51cm high. The vintage look comes courtesy of the canvas of the trunks which has been deliberately distressed to make it look old and well travelled. Inside the hinged lid is a faded image of the Union Jack to tap into that current interiors trend. They're also selling a longer and shallower trunk with a similar look. 

Vintage style apparently doesn't come cheap as the set of two trunks costs £795.

Ideally timed for the arrival of the sunshine, these Lemonade crates, available from Berry Red are perfect for adding some zest to your home.

The crates are vintage-looking, made from wood and decorated with the retro typography reading 'fresh lemonade'. That turquoise, green or grey pain looks deliberately distressed too. They'd look good on display but would be an attractive way to store things out of the way too.

Retro storage trunks from Rose and Grey

R&G Storage-Trunks

After years of hoarding stuff, it's always nice to find something that'll help make tidying up just that little easier. One stylish solution is these retro storage trunks available from Rose and Grey. 

The metal trunks are made by Danish company House Doctor and have a great 1950s look, right down to the fastenings and the label. They're only available as a set of two and in the colour combination of a bright red and the faded green shown. To give you an idea of the size, the green measures about 60cm across, while the red measures 69cm across – both are definitely designed for display.
