Vintage styled kitchenwares at H&M online

Hm table runner

Bargain hunters rejoice. H&M is now selling online and they're also doing homewares. Worth a look for cheap, unusual basics, you may like to check out their vintage-styled range.

Much in the style of products made by companies like Random Retail among many others, the range uses old-fashioned typography printed onto washed and faded linen to give them a vintage look. The H&M range includes an apron, tea towel, napkins and cushion covers, as well as the table runner pictured which looks like it has been made from an old seed sack.

The table runner costs £12.99 while prices start at £2.99 for the tea towel and napkins.

Art Deco-style Astoria range at John Lewis

Astoria table

More retro-goodness from John Lewis, this time inspired by the 1930s with their Art Deco-style Astoria range

It's a set of furniture – mostly intended for hall and living room use, with the exception of a chest of drawers – with mirrored finishes and chic black detailing that sums up the glamour of that period. Pictured is the half moon console table, typical of the range's elegant looks. Its stylish curves are topped off by the glass-effect knobs used on drawers that open to reveal a black lining.

Prices start at £99 for a cube side table and go up to £329 for the chest of drawers. The table pictured is £199.

eBay watch: 1950s Formica-topped plant stand

Plant

A rather cool little item for the 50s-themed home, this Formica-topped plant stand.

No maker of note, but if you want the look, it's all here – three angled wooden legs, a wooden platform and a black and white-striped Formica top with silver metallic rim.

Condition is described as 'good/fair', with some age-related marking. Then again, not much to pay – right now, it's just 99 pence.

eBay watch: 1960s Alan Wallwork tiled coffee table

Tiled

Something different, quirky, you could say kitsch – this Alan Wallwork tiled coffee table.

Alan Wallwork is the name of the person who created the tiles that adorn the top of the table. The seller presumably doesn't know who made the table, but the two were obviously put together in the 1960s. Indeed, if you're after a 60s look to a room, this would fit the bill perfectly.

Described as being in 'good condition for the age', it has some minor marking to the base of a leg, but nothing much worse. It can be yours for £19.99.

eBay watch: 1950s Danish teak side tables

Danish

Two very stylish items at a very cheap price – this pair of 1950s Danish teak side tables.

The title and picture just about sum things up, stylish Scandinavian midcentury design from the early 50s, complete with a decent-sized surface area, open natural cane shelf and a pull-out drawn, not to mention those pincer-like legs.

A couple of wear marks, but nothing to worry too much about, especially at the current price of $24.50 (£15.47) for the pair, plus shipping from Los Angeles, California.

Peacock table runner by Habitat

Peacock table runner

The new Autumn ranges are beginning to trickle into the shops. You can already get a preview of the new Habitat collection online. They've clearly been looking to the past for inspiration for aspects of the collection, which includes this Peacock table runner

The table runner is pure 70s style, featuring a folk-style repeated image of the peacock down the length of the runner. And it's quite a length too, measuring 270cm long. The fabric is a linen and cotton mix, adding to the natural feel of the design. For a perfectly dressed table, they're also selling accompanying peacock napkins.

This runner costs £20.
