Marianne Westman 50s Mon Amie design

MonAmieCupsPlates
You may recognise Marianne Westman's Mon Amie design, created for Rörstrand in the 1950s. The blue and white design pattern has been a much loved Swedish design ever since. The company has now introduced it onto new, twenty-first century tableware, including this mug and plate set.

The handle-less mug and the plate are perfect for using for a stylish snack. Both items are made from dishwasher proof porcelain.

The set costs $54.

Bobs-newsignsplates

Get that American diner feel in your home with these roadside signs plates from Bob's Your Uncle.

The set features four plates based on photographs taken on a road trip around the States. From retro lettering to illuminated pigs, the images selected are pure Americana. And, because they are melamine, the best news is you can take them on your own road trip too.

Bob's Your Uncle is a Boston based company, established by a British couple Martin and Michelle Yeeles. Their other products include plates based on scenes within a diner and trays featuring more old signage.

This set of plates costs $40.

East London landmark mugs

Saramugs

People will always need plates have created quite a trend for putting architectural drawing onto homewares, a trend that continues with these East London landmark mugs.

The four mugs reflect the history (and the current fashionableness) of the area and have something for most architectural tastes: be it the Victoriana of the Museum of Childhood, the industrial motif of the gas towers, the turn-of-the-century Hackney Empire or Dalston's Deco Rio cinema. Perhaps unsurprisingly their designer, Saranotsarah, is also an architect. Each drawing is shown against an attractive, colourful background.

The mugs cost £8.50 each or £30 for a set of four. Perfect for a Rosie Lee…

Fika cups new at ISAK

Fika cups

Regular readers will know that we are massive fans of the Scandinavian retro stylings of ISAK, so a new product is always exciting. And here are the Fika cups: two small handle-less cups used for drinking or snacking, or just looking nice!

The cups come in a set of two. One cup is decorated with a 'Familjen' design, featuring heads of people in a similar style to their Blossom and Bill range, and the other is covered in a 'Harvest' food-inspired design (which reminded me of some of the rediscovered 1950s designs we've featured from New House Textiles).

Another great addition to the ISAK collection, they come in an attractive presentation box and cost £18 for the pair.
