Brennan and Burch tape wall stickers

Tpstickers

Long surpassed as a music format, the cassette tape still remains a favourite with designers. Another new product using its instantly recognisable form is this set of tape wall stickers from Brennan and Burch.

The work of illustrator Lisa Brennan, there are six different printed vinyl designs in a pack, which measures 50cm square. With a fun, cartoonish element and though it's the wrong era of musical technology, the bright colours give them a Pop feel.

Apparently a limited edition (though I'm not sure exactly how limited), a pack costs £30.

Cassette Tape and Record Deck doormats at Meninos

Mat1

We've seen (and featured) some interesting doormats in the past, but these Cassette Tape and Record Deck doormats at Meninos are something special.

Take your pick from four cassette designs, including the one above, or opt for the record deck, which you can see over the page. They might not look it, but all the mats are made of rubber, which means they should be washable and durable, with a size of around 60 x 38cm.

Prices for all are around $49.99, which is around £33.

Rocket 80s-style cassette deck shelf

Rocket2

How useful it is I don't really know – but for impact, you can't really fault this Rocket cassette deck shelf.

Rocket is the name of the designers rather than the product (which I think is simply called 'shelf'), but is part of a wider collection based on the two designers' 'common infatuation with rock n roll and disco culture'.

In this case, an 80s-style, in-car cassette deck that mixes 2D and 3D elements, specifically wall vinyl and the wooden 'cassette' shelf. The entire design is around 42 inches wide, the shelf part covering 11.7 inches. Two colour options, both available online for £95.

Cassette-shaped tote bag at Truffle Shuffle

Cassette_tote

Novelty bags don't come much quirkier than this Cassette-shaped tote bag, which is currently for sale at Truffle Shuffle.

It is what it says – a large bag shaped like an old cassette tape, with a handle that looks not unlike some that loose tape that always hung out of old cassettes.

Ideal for a beach or shopper, but especially good for getting you attention, it sells for £7.99.

1950s-style Shelf tape by Kathryn Dale

Shelf tape

Cast your mind back a couple of months and you may remember the London souvenir badge from Shelf. This Shelf tape, designed by Kathryn Dale, is another example of their products.

It's a retro-styled scene of a slinky cat prowling a mantelpiece, causing some chaos amidst the books, dominoes and clock. The colour scheme of pinks and browns reinforces the 1950s feel.

The tape costs £6 and is a perfect way to add style to your packages or perhaps even your own shelf.
