Love Hate teapot by Welovekaoru

Looking for a teapot with a bit more attitude than the usual designs? Check out the Love Hate teapot from Welovekarou.

The design is inspired by the 1955 film The Night of the Hunter and the Love/Hate tattoos across character Harry Powell's knuckles. One side of the teapot shows Love, illustrated by a traditional tattoo style heart and doves. The other side of course shows hate – portrayed by a dagger going through a heart. Something to ponder over a pot of tea!

The teapot costs £60 while you can get the same design on a cup and saucer for £28 for a cup and saucer.

Jonny Hannah’s Loomings, Coffin and Scrimshaw print set

Do you remember The Captain's Pattern fabric Jonny Hannah designed for St Jude's Gallery and we featured a little while back? Well, the artist has used that fabric's retro, seafaring imagery for his Loomings, Coffin and Scrimshaw print set.

Each set includes 16 prints, each reproducing a different vignette used for the fabric, such as the tattoo-style love heart shown above. Also contained in each set is an introduction by the artist. Limited to 50 editions, if you like the nautical flavour of these prints better pick one up quickly.

Tattoo cushions from Dwell

We've seen retro-style tattoos adorning everything from rugs to dish cloths, as well as the body, and it continues with these tattoo cushions from Dwell.

Both cushions use typical tattoo motifs: one shows a pierced heart with a blank banner while the other is decorated with a classic rose dedicated to 'Mom'. The slightly annoying Americanism aside, these cushions are a subtler take on the trend with the illustrations marked out in simple red and black against the plain white of the cotton.

Ceramic retro tattoo-style heart shaped box

This unusual ceramic heart shaped box features a retro tattoo-style design. The lid is covered with the words 'love forever' alongside all the emblems you'd expect from a traditional tattoo: a bleeding heart, birds, cupid. However, it's all rendered in white porcelain with a matt finish, rather than in pen and ink.

The box is much bigger than you might think too, measuring 30cm x 28cm, and making it quite a declaration of love for your home.

Retro Christmas tree decorations from Seletti

All the customary Christmas tinsel and paper garlands leaving you a bit cold? Seletti have got some great alternative retro-themed Christmas tree decorations.

The ceramic decorations represent objects drawn from many different decades. Proving those space invaders get just about everywhere, pictured is the version you can get to hang on your tree.
