Fan of vintage textile design? Take a look at these 1950 fabric design mugs from Prey.

Bath-based Prey have reproduced charming vintage designs onto mugs – such as the Houses design shown – creating lovely pieces in their own right. The mugs are available featuring two further colourful prints, entitled Fruit Bowls and Soda Siphon.

The same designs have also been reproduced on storage tins. Sadly these are currently out-of-stock, though you can enter your email address on the website to be notified when they're back on sale. 

The mugs cost £9.95 each.

Punk-inspired tea mugs at Make International

Even a quick brew can be rebellious if it comes in one of these punk-inspired tea mugs at Make International.

Choose from phrases inspired by the Sex Pistols (one above, one over the page) and The Clash, or if your vintage is later, Nirvana with Smells Like Tea Spirit.

All are described as 'bucket' mugs, which presumably means plenty of room for your tea and if anyone is in any doubt about your punk credentials, there's even a safety pin thrown in for good measure. Grab one now for £12.

Sagaform daisy, tulip and clover tea sets

These Sagaform daisy, tulip and clover tea sets are another easy way to brighten up a kitchen. 

Pictured is the tulip design but the other designs follow the same pattern – 60s-style, bold floral designs on a generously sized mug. As you'd expect the clover cup features a green pattern, while the daisy is in blue – in fact it would go perfectly with the Jonathan Adler tea towel we featured yesterday. 

They're designed by Camilla Engdahl, the designer behind Sagaform's 'retro' tea cup and saucer. These tea cups each come in a metal tin decorated with the same pattern, surely perfect for future biscuit storage use. To complete the set, they also come with a tea ball. 

An ideal gift for a tea lover, they cost £22.23 each.

With so much revival of the vampish and sexier side of retro fashion – from pin-ups to Mad Men style sexy secretaries – we can often forget the appeal of more demure style. This Stella Dress from French Connection perfectly encapsulates the girlish innocence of the turn of the 60s.

With some of the delicately girlish prom appeal of fifties dresses, the embroidered bodice and more simplistic silhouette add a sixties vibe. The large skirt covers enough flesh to be youthful without dowdiness, while a light peach shade adds some luxurious, ethereal style.

Elle Deco Sanna Annukka mug for Shelter

Good cause, great design and an opportunity for a nice cup of tea – what's not to like about the Elle Deco Sanna Annukka mug produced to raise money for Shelter? 

One of several artists asked by Elle Deco to contribute to this project to raise money for the charity, Sanna Annukka's folk-inspired designs are no stranger to this site and this limited edition mug reflects her style. Apparently she looked to summer flowers for her inspiration and it has translated into a bold decorative design, with the red and black looking striking against the white of the Churchill mug, as well as reflecting the colours of the Shelter logo. 

The other mugs in the set have a more contemporary feel with designs by Stephen Jones and Richard Woods. 

The mugs cost £7 each with 50% of the selling price going to Shelter.

John Lewis revival mugs

Pots and mugs

We've featured the John Lewis Revival furniture range previously including its mid-century inspired sideboard. You can now get the mugs to go with the furniture too, with their Revival mug range. 

Like the furniture, the designs are very much influenced by the 1950s and 60s, such as with the Pots and Pans mug pictured which features sketchily drawn ceramics. The other mugs are covered in more naturally inspired designs with the elm leaf and the seed mug.
