Nigel Dicker photographs of Old Covent Garden
If you want a glimpse into London's Covent Garden looked like before the tourists descended, take a look at Nigel Dicker's photographs of Old Covent Garden.
The images show the area back when it was a fruit and vegetable market and were all taken in 1972 and 1973 – just before the market located to its new location in 1974. The photographs are now available to buy as prints and show a fascinating range of customers and city scenes: from sellers to customers to the kind of old fashioned gent shown in the image above.
Each print is sold as part of a limited edition of 100 and cost £45 each.

Joseph Joseph Vibrant vegetable worktop saver
Joseph Joseph are well known for their colourful worktop saver designs and this Vibrant Vegetable design is no exception. It's part of Linea range at House of Fraser that we featured a little while back.
The board is decorated with colourful, stylised vegetables illustrations that have something of an early 70s feel. That's the looks taken care of then but the board is also practical, made from heat-resistant toughened glass.
Even better is the news that it's currently on sale, reduced to £10.80.

Linea vibrant veg salad bowl
This vibrant veg salad bowl is a much quirky addition to the Linea range.
Instead of the very contemporary looking designs I often associate with that range, the brightly coloured illustrations on this stoneware salad bowl give it a retro feel. It reminds me of the neat 1970s designs of Gemuse by Graziela among other things, and hopefully similar items will be added to the range.
Snap this design up quickly before it goes – it costs £20.
