Super Size Art replica vintage record sleeves get smaller and cheaper

Supremes

Back in February, we featured Super Size Art, which specialised in remaking classic singles artwork as giant, 3D-style canvases for your home. Well, if the originals were a little large for you, the new Record Cover Canvas range by Super Size Art might suit your home and wallet a little better.

A limited number of the original range are available at the smaller size of 42 x 42cm, including the likes of The Who, The Rolling Stones and Marvin Gaye – the latter pictured above. All are printed canvas sleeves with inner disc, complete with a wall hook for mounting. It's also sold in a protective box, finished by hand and signed and numbered by the artist.

The price for the new, smaller versions? £90 each. The larger versions are also available on the same site, do a check for the seller's other items.

eBay watch: 1970s Philips Stereo 292 portable record player

Philips

Yes, we've dug up another vintage vinyl spinner, specifically this Philips Stereo 292 portable record player.

It's a rather cool piece of kit for not a lot of money. Battery or mains operated, the deck is portable, able to slot together should you need to carry it around. But when you need some tunes, remove those speakers for stereo sound on the go.

It plays 33/45 records, has slide controls for volume/tone for each speaker and according to the seller, it works and apart from a few fine age scratches, is in great condition too. Lots of close-up images of the player on the site, with bidding right now at just £1.

eBay watch: 1960s Dansette Tempo portable record player

Dansette

Scan through eBay and you'll find a good number of Dansette record players for sale, some cheap, some not-so-cheap, some working, some nothing more than a pile of parts. This Dansette Tempo portable record player is probably near the top of the pile, with a few bids already placed for it.

It's a classic Dansette in both shape and colour, oozing authenticity and after being on the receiving end of a full service, working as well today as it did back in 1962. The 4 speed Garrard Autoslim autochanger will play speeds of 16, 33, 45 and 78 rpm manually or can load a selection of up to six records of either 7, 10 or 12 inch to be played automatically.

A real bargain for no money right now, this 1970s Radiola portable record player.

It's an all-in-one player in a bold shade of red, offering up playback of 33/45 records (7 or 12-inch), all of which packs away in a nice briefcase-like design, with the speaker being the front of that 'case'. It's got 'some signs of age', but works fine and looks good for all those years.

Sound Burger returns as the Crosley Revolution CR6002 portable record player

Crosley_revolution

We featured this back in January, but now you can actually buy the Crosley Revolution CR6002 portable record player. At least, you can in the US. Don't worry, it'll be in the UK soon enough.

It's not a million miles away from the vinyl crate digger's tool of choice, the Sound Burger, a portable record player from the mid-80s. This new version updates things a little, offering 33/45 speed playback, dynamic full range stereo speakers, battery power, an FM transmitter for firing music over to your audio system wirelessly and a USB socket, so you can easily transfer vinyl to digital formats.

You can buy it directly from Crosley for $149.95 in three colour options, as well as Hammacher Schlemmer. We would expect Urban Outfitters to be the place in the UK to get one in the near future.
