eBay watch: Braun PS 2 record turntable by Dieter Rams

Rams_deck

Only one bid as yet, making this Braun PS 2 record turntable by Dieter Rams something of a steal.

Designed by Rams back in 1963, it's a classic piece of modernist-inspired Braun (and Rams) design for vinyl playback at 16, 33 and 45 speeds. it's described as being in 'full working order' and in 'excellent overall condition'. Age has played a part, so check the full details and images before you bid.

But it is worth bidding if you like this kind of thing – right now it's only £1.

1970s Philips Playby 22GF403 briefcase record player

Phil1

We have featured vintage portable record players by Philips in the past, but we haven't seen the Philips Playby 22GF403 briefcase record player on eBay before.

Made in the 70s (as you might have guessed), this is a portable player that's able to play vinyl at33, 45 or 78, powered on either battery or mains. The speaker is built in and when it's packed away, it looks like a briefcase – albeit one in red plastic.

Described as being in 'very good condition', the current bid is just £3.20. See an image of it packed away over the page.

eBay watch: 1950s standing Dansette record player

Dansette

Perfect got an 1950s or early-60s-themed home, this 1950s standing Dansette record player, available right now on eBay.

Details are very scarce on the listing, but we love the classic looks, even if its ability to play records isn't clear. The seller says they 'believe it to be in working condition'. However, they 'have no records to check'. Couldn't afford 20p to pick one up at your local charity shop? Despite not being able to get a record, they do offer to get it checked out for you by an electrician…at a price of £15 on top of the final price.

None of which fills you with confidence, but there's no denying that this is a a stylish item and for a vintage Dansette, incredibly cheap right now at just £20.

eBay watch: 1970s Philips 303 UFO record player by Patrice Dupont

Ufo

We have featured this design before in our eBay slot, but we are covering this 1970s Philips 303 UFO record player by Patrice Dupont once more because this example is just so cheap.

That could be because of a couple of minor problems – the battery cover is missing and there's a crack on the hinge. Neither affect operation and everything else is just fine. In fact, it even comes with a rare blue lid as a bonus, so that's something.

Which all makes it something of a bargain. Right now this UFO record player is at just £1. We have seen these making £300+ in the past, which gives you an idea of how much of a steal this is.

Each clock costs 30 Euros, or 25 Euros if you're lucky enough to be buying within Estonia.

Vinyl Coasters at Paul Smith

Vinyl

Ok, so you don't want your table damaged by a mark off a cup or glass, but you don't want some crumby coasters kicking around either. The solution? Get some stylish coasters – like these Vinyl Coasters at Paul Smith.

Not coasters that look like vinyl, these used to be vinyl – made from abandoned/damaged records, then rescued and recycled into something for the home.

The downside of being so eco is that you don't know which coasters you'll get – depends what records dropped into the factory that day. But you do get six in a pack, with a price of £15.
