eBay watch: 1970s Hornyphon SA 8651 see-through portable record player

Horn1

Described as a 'very rare and sought-after model', the Hornyphon SA 865 is certainly an eye-catching portable record player.

Not unlike the Philips players we've featured in the past, this one has a lucite smokey-grey lid with integrated speaker, integrated handle and the option to use with battery of mains. When it comes to our vinyl, it's good for 33, 5 and 78-speed records.

Cassette Tape and Record Deck doormats at Meninos

Mat1

We've seen (and featured) some interesting doormats in the past, but these Cassette Tape and Record Deck doormats at Meninos are something special.

Take your pick from four cassette designs, including the one above, or opt for the record deck, which you can see over the page. They might not look it, but all the mats are made of rubber, which means they should be washable and durable, with a size of around 60 x 38cm.

Prices for all are around $49.99, which is around £33.

eBay watch: Unused 1970s Philips 133 portable record player

Philips

A real bargain on eBay right now – this unused 1970s Philips 133 portable record player.

Dating back to the 1970s, it is indeed described as 'mint condition' and 'real museum quality', so we can presume this is a pretty decent model being offered. Features include battery or mains power, a 70s orange colour scheme, 33/45/78 speeds and a speaker that doubles as a case, complete with integrated handle.

All of that right now for just £1. Yes, you read that right.

Record Cushions by Dark Dog Studio

Record

Dark Dog Studio is the work of designer/maker Hannah Galvin-Horne, producing both fabric and cushions, the latter including these Record Cushions.

The reasoning behind the name is pretty self-explanatory – each of the hnadmade, handprinted cushions features images of vintage vinyl 45s, offered in different sizes and with different colour options for the trim.

The cushions are printed on 100% cotton duck canvas and they come with a 100% duck feather cushion pad. The front of the cushion features the print, while the back of the cushion is dyed in a corresponding colour to the print. All are made to order, so expect a little wait, with prices around the £68 mark.

Wood Turntable at Urban Outfitters

Wood

It's made (partly) of wood and it's a turmtable, making this the Wood Turntable at Urban Outfitters.

Of course, it's not all wood – there's some plastic too, not to mention the electrics to make the thing tick. Switch it on and you can playback good old-fashioned vinyl at 33/45/78, as well as accessing AM/FM radio, all through the built-in speakers or headphones plugged into the jack.

It retails online for $88. If you like the look, but want a deck for using with your PC, there's also a USB version available for $128.
