Tag Heuer Monaco Vintage Chronograph reissue

Tag

First produced back in 1969 in honour of the Monaco Grand Prix and famously worn by Steve McQueen 'back in the day', the Monaco is back once more, this time as the Tag Heuer Monaco Vintage Chronograph.

Apparently, this latest version is based on one of the original Monaco designs, one with the original Tag-free Heuer logo, grey dial, a charcoal grey stainless steel case and of course, the microrotor for automatic rewinding.

The watch will be available in a limited run of 1,860 pieces and goes on sale soon, priced around the £3,200 mark. If you don't like the looks, you can always head to Bamford, which offers a bespoke version.

80s-style calculator watch by Adidas Originals

Adi_calc

On the face of it, this looks like a survivor from the 1980s – but this calculator watch by Adidas Originals is actually a brand new issue.

Mixing blue with pink detailing, it offers up a digital time display and an alarm, along with a standard calculator display with standard calculation functions.

Perfect for kids, even better for big kids. Indeed, it even comes in a mini Adidas shoe box, Adi collectors. Yours for £49.99.

Timex 80 Metal Jumbo retro-styled watch

Jumbo

We have featured the Timex 80 before, but now there's an added twist – the Timex 80 Metal Jumbo watch.

The difference? Well, the clue is in the name – this is a 'Jumbo' version of the retro-styled digital watch, with a metal casing in a gold or silver finish (colour, not previous metal) and with all the essential functions – time, date, alarm and stopwatch.

There's also an Indiglo backlight, a neon plastic case and water resistance. Yours for £69.

P’6612 Dashboard Le Mans 1970 Watch by Porsche Design

Porsche

The first win for Porsche at the Le Mans race was in 1970, with Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood driving a 917 K – and 40 years on, the P'6612 Dashboard Le Mans 1970 Watch by Porsche Design celebrates that significant event.

It's a watch based on the original car, with a dial styled after the car's instrumentation, a perforated calfskin strap with red stitching to replicate the steering wheel, the car's number 23 on the face and to finish things off, a brushed, polished titanium case, an automatic chronograph movement, and tachometer scale.

To coincide with the car's model number, 917 will be made, each sold with a scale model of the 917 K and a booklet signed by the race winners themselves. Price? Not yet confirmed, but we suspect 'not cheap'.

80s-style Furni x Raised By Wolves digital watch reissued for 2010

Furni

Back in 2008, we featured the original issue and now, two years on, the Furni x Raised By Wolves digital watch has been reissued in new colourways.

It's true to the original design, which is very much straight out of the 1980s and now offered in a choice of grey, yellow and green. Plenty of functionality too, including phone book, stopwatch, countdown timer and multiple alarm features, along with the option of hourly chimes, 12/24-hour time, water-resistance and indiglo-style backlight.

Get one while you can, as these tend to sell through quickly – price is just $28.

Swatch x Oscar Niemeyer Tracos de Um Arquiteto watch

Niem

We have featured Swatch on various occasions over the years, but I think this is perhaps the coolest design we've had so far – the Swatch x Oscar Niemeyer Tracos de Um Arquiteto watch.

'Tracos de Um Arquiteto' apparently translates to 'traces of an architect' and of course, the architect in question is Oscar Niemeyer. The watch was created for the 50th anniversary of Brazil's capital, Brasilia and is inspired by the architecture of its National Museum and the work of the architect himself.

So as well as offering up some retro cool, it just might get some knowing glances off fans of modernist design too. A limited edition, you can pick it up from Colette for 43 Euros.
