EOS produces the cassette-like Mixtape Watch

Mixwatch

If you're pining for the days of the cassette, you might be the perfect candidate for this newly-launched EOS Mixtape watch.

Yes, that's right, this is a cassette-shaped wristwatch, replacing the standard watch face with an anodised black stainless steel micro-cassette that features some branding and detailing. How do you tell the time? On the right dial is where the hands are for the time if you look closely.

Finished off with a leather strap and available in two colour combinations,  you can secure one for $135.

Timex Core retro digital watch in gold and steel

Timex_core

Timex seems to be doing very well right now producing vintage styles or styles influenced by its archives – like the Timex Core digital watch for example.

It's a typical 80-style watch, with a choice of 'gold' or steel finish, both with 'Indiglo' night light for reading the digital display in the dark, a digital chronograph (measuring up to 1/100 second), a daily alarm, month, day and date feature and water resistance down to 30m.

Suitable for both males and females of all sizes (due to an expansion bracelet), prices start at £24.99.

70s-style James watch collection by 666 Barcelona

James

A new company to me, but the James watch collection by 666 Barcelona has something of a familiar look.

Indeed, they're not a million miles away from the classic 1970s Lip watches we have featured in the past, but with more of a contemporary twist thrown in for the LED display.

Take your pick from a mix of metal and metal/rubbrer for the finish, the former in a choice of a metallic silver or gold, prices varying depending on where you buy. Watchismo sells the watches from $149, while the company sells to Europe direct, with prices starting at 116 Euros.

1966 World Cup watches at Bonhams

Worldcup

There's a World Cup memorabilia auction at Bonhams in Chester, with lots priced with quite reasonable estimates – as these unique 1966 World Cup watches show.

You actually get two watches and a keyfob in the lot, the latter a circular metallic enamelled keyfob designed with World Cup Willie mascot to one side and the Jules Rimet trophy to the other. But it's the watches that are the most interesting – both produced by La Gruyere, the faces feature the World Cup Willie mascot on one side, the World Cup decal on the other.

A blast from the past from a modern-day wristwatch – the Komono Einstein digital watch.
