Old England watches relaunches

OE116LR_1

Old England watches were originally launched by Accurist in 1967 and were seen on the wrists of some of the most famous stars of the period, ranging from Twiggy to Princess Anne. They even produced a special watch for The Beatles' Apple boutique. The brand is being relaunched this week with a new concession at Selfridges.

The new unisex watches take their stylistic cue from the originals designed by Richard Loftus. They've produced three lines: 'Be Brave', watches coloured with bright yellows and pinks; 'Classic Roman', monochrome designs featuring Roman numerals, and 'New Union'. Like the watch pictured above, these are Pop-style watches which, as the name might suggest, all use the Union Jack.

As well as the wrist watches pictured, selected designs are also available as pocket watches and pendants.

Prices start at £90.

Tag Heuer Monaco Vintage Chronograph reissue

Tag

First produced back in 1969 in honour of the Monaco Grand Prix and famously worn by Steve McQueen 'back in the day', the Monaco is back once more, this time as the Tag Heuer Monaco Vintage Chronograph.

Apparently, this latest version is based on one of the original Monaco designs, one with the original Tag-free Heuer logo, grey dial, a charcoal grey stainless steel case and of course, the microrotor for automatic rewinding.

The watch will be available in a limited run of 1,860 pieces and goes on sale soon, priced around the £3,200 mark. If you don't like the looks, you can always head to Bamford, which offers a bespoke version.

You may or may not know that it's 60 years since Charles M. Schulz brought Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts characters into the world. So to celebrate, Dover Street Market has teamed up with a host of brands to produce a Peanuts 60th anniversary range.

From 27th September, the store will have a Peanuts-themed window and a range of goodies from the likes of Lacoste, Loopwheeler, Original Fake, Converse, Hysteric Glamour, Longchamp, Medicom Be@rbrick and Mulberry.

You can see some above, but check out the Peanuts Be@rbrick characters over the page, along with the Converse and the watch. Prices? No details of those as yet, check the DSM website on launch date. But we suspect the Longchamp Snoopy bag isn't going to come cheap.
