Some months back, we featured the Keep Calm And Carry On poster – an original World War II was discovered in a box of old books by the Barter Books store in Northumberland. When the poster was displayed, it drew a lot if interest – leading to the bookstore selling copies of it.
Well, someone has taken that a step further, producing screenprints of the wartime message in three different shades. The upmarket version is the same size, is offered in peach, pear and plum (instead of the original red). Each two colour screen print is from a numbered edition of 50, hand pulled onto thick 250gsm fine art paper.
They retail for £25 plus £6 postage (wrapped in acid free conservation tissue paper and posted in a durable mailing tube to ensure safe delivery). If that’s a bit rich, Barter Books is still selling their stock of re-print posters for £3.60 each.
For the cheapskates like me, you can get a replica poster for around £6 (including postage worldwide) from http://www.barterbooks.co.uk/bb/barterstaticpages.nsf/Web/StaticPages/GiftShop
Yes – we mention that in the article! 😉
