We have featured the TAG Heuer "Steve McQueen" Monaco watch previously, but there’s a new version on the market we think looks even sharper – the TAG Heuer Monaco Vintage in black.
Technically, it’s the same – a copy of the world’s first square-cased chronograph, designed to match McQueen’s suit in the movie Le Mans, which itself was a replica of the one worn by the first driver sponsored by TAG Heuer – Jo Siffert. And it was the first watch with a microrotor for automatic rewinding – the revolutionary “Chronomatic Calibre 11.”
This new vintage version has black dial with orange and blue stripes, vintage "Gulf" logo and matching black alligator strap with orange stitching. A colour scheme paying tribute to the Porsche-Gulf 917K car in the movie. It’s a limited edition of 4,000 pieces – and if you want one, you’ll have to pay £2,500.
