Another classic chair from French designer Pierre Paulin, who designed the famous Ribbon Chair we featured earlier in the week. The Mushroom Chair was Paulin’s first design using the new construction technique of a metal frame covered with foam, which was revolutionary back in the sixties.
The great designer himself said "A chair should be more than simply functional. It should be friendly, fun and colourful." And the Mushroom is certainly that.
This chair is on show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, but a reproduction is available from BlueSunTree for £450. If it is good enough for MoMa, it is good enough for your lounge!
