Sideboards fell out of favour in the eighties when minimalism ruled design, but before then the sideboard was a feature of most homes, either in the lounge, dining room or hallway. Now the sideboard seems to be making something of a comeback, probably because people are realising it is an incredibly useful piece of furniture.
Purves & Purves have a whole range of sideboards by the Swedish designer, Rutger Anderson, the Twiggy Sideboards. Not only do these sideboards embody retro Scandinavian style, they are named after a 1960’s icon! Twiggy Sideboards are available in ivory or anthracite, and with a range of drawer and size options.
The one pictured here is the most expensive in the set, costing £435.
They do look pretty useful. Maybe I should wait for the next top model edition?
