The 40th anniversary is for the company, not the speaker – even though the throwback design has a definite hint of the early 70s. The Minipod Jubilee is certainly a class act, limited to just 200 worldwide, each numbered and with gold-plated speaker terminals, gold spike ‘sputnik-style’ spike feet, gold Scandyna badge and Black Graphite colur scheme.
And sound-wise, they use three spheres that form one vessel to reduce distortion and vibration to produce a clearer output. The one downside is the price – a rather hefty £550.
