Thumbing through the latest edition of Elle Decoration, I noticed a feature on ‘undiscovered’ British design labels to watch, heading up by Merrow Associates. Shame the article came about six years after everyone bought up the stock on the cheap, leaving new buyers facing four-figure prices for most of the pieces.
Saying that, the knock-on effect of its popularity is a number of high street copies, including the ILVA Malaga coffee table. It’s the classic dark wood and chrome combination, but with the dark wood being walnut rather than rosewood.
The chrome isn’t as chunky as classic Merrow either, but if you’re after the look, this 130cm-wide coffee table is good value for £199.
