Beatles’ fans making a pilgrimage to Liverpool may wish to complete their trip with an overnight stay in the Hard Day’s Night Hotel which has opened recently in what the city is now billing as ‘The Beatles Quarter’.
The hotel has 110 rooms, each incorporating a specially commissioned piece of artwork by acclaimed Beatles artist Shannon. There are also two special suites (surely four would have been more appropriate?) which are, of course the Lennon and McCartney Suites. They are decorated with a white piano and knight’s suit respectively.
The theme continues in the Bar Four. Amongst standard classic cocktails, you’ll find such themed delights as Strawberry Fields with Pepper (vodka, strawberries and unsurprisingly, pepper), Honey Can’t By Me Love (featuring honey vodka) and Fab Four, a cocktail involving a bottle of Cristal champagne and costing £750!
There is also a restaurant with décor inspired by the Sgt Pepper album and a brasserie although thankfully the dishes served here haven’t been given Beatles-related names.
Attached to the hotel is a gallery which allows visitors to buy some of the artwork on show in the hotel – that is if you’ve not had enough of the Fab Four by now!
