A couple of months back, we featured the Timex 80 digital watch range, which at the time was only available in selected retailers and certainly not in the UK. Well, now they are available in the UK (and the US too I presume), with the mainly plastic bodied watches now being joined by a version in metallic silver and gold.
We did briefly mention the metal versions last time out, but we didn’t have images. Now (as you can see) we have. Both feature all of the basic functions including time, date, stopwatch feature, alarm and the indigo backlight, along with a matching stainless steel strap that stretches to fit your wrist.
Both are sold in an 80s-style neon plastic, slide top box and come with a two-year guarantee. You can pick one up for £55.
I’m sorry ,but £55 for this is taking the proverbial .A price of £20 is more realistic.I sold watches like this in the 80s for £5 .
20 quid in the argos catalog is all that these will set you back http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2832496/Trail/searchtext%3ETIMEX.htm
i just brought one for £17.99, now days any thing sold as retro seem to be a reason to bump up the price, and sell it to stupid people!
