Looking for a project? This 1930s modernist house in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex – and some of the hard work has already been taken care of.
Not far from the coast and the the train station, this period property has certainly seen better days, but does retain many of its original features, including the cubic shape, wraparound and vertical strip windows and a large sun terrace.
It needs sympathetically modernising and new plans for the house have been completed by architect Anthony Slee. But whether the above is what’s needed is perhaps open to question – although the addition of a second floor and a rear extension will certainly add a lot of space.
See more of the house old and new at the website, with the asking price set at around £450,000. And if you know of any interesting houses for sale, let us know – we like nothing more than having a nosey round someone else’s home.
seen this house many times ………. and always loved it, lovely part of the world to ………. there’s quite a few of a similar build in the same area …….. even the same road.
jealous as hell for whoever gets it.
