If you happen to have 20 hours of your life spare and want to devote that time to the 70s British sitcom, we have just the thing – Robin’s Nest: The Complete Series.
Amazingly, this Man About The House spin-off was groundbreaking – the first time an unmarried couple were shown as living together. Aside from that, this is very much your typical comedy of the day. Based around a Fulham bistro (when was the last time you heard that word), Robin (Richard O’Sullivan) is helped by his girlfriend (and later wife) Vicky (Tessa Wyatt), who’s father Mr. Nicholls (Tony Britton) finances he eaterie – but doesn’t care much for his daughter’s squeeze. Oh yes – and there’s a one-armed Irish dishwasher called Albert Riddle (David Kelly), always on hand for a bit of mayhem.
A review is pretty much redundant – you’ll already know if this has a place in your collection. And if it does, the 7-disc set can be yours via Network for an RRP of £49.99 from 3rd November 2008.
