The car above is a HB Special roadster – it’s not available to buy, but you can hire it for a break.
It’s a modern car made by the Huet Brothers, but based on the classic racers of the 50s. Just 12 have been put into production, all based on the classic Triumph TR6 , with a lightweight carbon fibre body, 2.7 litre engine and modern-day brakes, shock absorbers and suspension plus a stylish retro interior.
You can hire one for a four-day break, with some period racing gear thrown in for good measure, so you can race around some European roads looking the part. Details and (most importantly) prices for 2009 haven’t yet been released, you might want to drop them a line at the website if you’re interested.
