We’ve featured Ercol in the past, but if you want to get up close and personal with the mid-century designs, you can at the Liberty store in London from this Saturday.
Ercol will be on the fourth floor of the re-designed Liberty, with all of the Originals (dating back to the 1950s) on display and for sale in both the black and wood finish.
While all that is worthy of your attention, what we didn’t know is that you can now get the Originals with quirky upholstered finishes, like the one above, We don’t know for sure, but we suspect that’s a Marimekko fabric, looking like a marriage made in heaven. We don’t have details of the price of these right now, you’ll probably need to contact the store.
I believe the design is Marimekko’s ‘Kivet by Maija Isola, produced from 1956 onwards. Looks good, and even better is the fact that it comes in a number of different colours and backgrounds!
