If you're after a non-nonsense trainer that can take a bit of wear, you might want to check out the Adidas Kick 2 trainers.

Introduced in the mid-70s as a football shoe, they can probably still serve you well in a kickabout, especially with that reinforced toe and the solid sole that packs plenty of grip. But it's also a fairly smart trainer with the minimum of contrast detailing and a gold logo on the tongue.

Choose from three colour options, all retailing for £54.99. See over for the black variation.

  1. As I remember Kick were Adidas’ ‘entry level’ trainer in the late 70s. From there you traded up to Samba, Rom and suchlike.

  2. My first pair of Adidas trainers were “Blackbird”.
I eventually got a pair of “kick but my favourites were “Mamba”. I had “Bamba”,”Samba” & “Rom” too.For some reason I never liked “Samba”. I got a pair a couple of years ago (about 30 years too late!) and it was apparant why.The soles semed so thin that you felt EVERYTHING you stood on! LOL

  3. Could anyone please tell me where to find these shoes? I’m aware they are beyond rare and outdated but perhaps someone still has a hint for me?? I’m looking for a 10.5 UK size in full white leather with blue stripes (no suede overlay on the tip).
Thank you so much for anyone who will reply.
