Last year, Retro To Go featured Dwell's versions of the Wassily and the Panton chairs and here's another example of how they've reinterpreted a modern classic. The Eiffel mesh chair takes its lead from the DKR Eames chair which was designed in 1951. The eiffel bit of the name comes from the base which was apparently inspired by the Eiffel Tower.
You can still get the chair under the Eames name through Vitra and, while that option does offer a genuine leather seat instead of the faux leather on offer here, otherwise the chairs look pretty similar. One major difference is the price: while the Vitra version will set you back almost £500, the Dwell number costs just £95.
