If you are looking for something quirky why not check out the work of Roman Klonek currently on show at the Kemistry Gallery at an exhibition entitled Flux Gate Kasachok.
Polish-born Klonek is influenced by Eastern European cartoon styles remembered from his childhood and produces work using woodcut printing.
The pieces he creates are populated by a wide range of whimsical creatures, mostly half animal half human, and often presented in awkward or hair-raising situations.
There is a real retro feel to the work and this piece Escape with me is one of our favourites from the collection. It is a woodcut sized at 49 x 69cm from an edition of 14, and priced at £400.
