Okay, the polaroid camera does still live on in various guises. But the original model continues to be commemorated in various ways, not least this ceramic called the Ghost Camera.
The piece recreates the look of the camera in earthenware, using a white glaze to emphasise the 'ghost' in its title. It is a fitting reminder of the timescale of its now redundant technologies in comparison in comparison to ceramics which have survived for thousands of years.
Glazed and handcast in Portland, Oregon, it costs $60 and is sold by the San Francisco based Yellow Owl Workshop.
