Remember the Colombo phone? Of course you do, but you might not have realised it was officially the Colombo Two, with another Joe Colombo-inspired handset appearing in the first press shots, but never actually appearing in the stores. Well, the Colombo One phone is now available in the UK.
Still packing those 60s space age looks, the Colombo One is actually a very different proposition to the original, it stands upright (rather like an Ericofon at first glance), although the keys and screen are much the same. However, the biggest different is in the holder. Not just a place to stick the handset for a charge, it accesses a fully featured digital answering machine, which can actually be accessed remotely.
Other features include the ability to store up to 250 numbers, text messaging, a selection of ring tones, an alarm clock, caller ID and an eco mode. This ChauhanStudio design is once again produced by Magicbox and is available to buy now from Argos as a single phone or a double pack. Prices start at £33.32.
I love this phone and I hate the one I have. I’m off to the shops!
Great looking phone, trust me the worst sound of any phone, it seems to take reto too far in that you feel like you’re having a conversation in the 40’s, I have to keep telling my wife how good it looks to stop her throwing it out of the window!
Hmm, good looking phone, shame it’s not as reliable as it looks!! I have the Colombo Two, not great.
