Known primarily for her modernist designs for and with Le Corbusier (like the stylish LC3 armchair for example), Charlotte Perriand designed furniture well into her 80s. Indeed, there are some designs still appearing right now – like the Petalo nesting tables for Cassina.
Originally designed back in 1951 (for student accomodation would you believe), this is one of several designs being reissued by Cassina, many appearing in retailers' showrooms for the first time – like this one. Using a surviving prototype, Cassina has worked with the Perriand family to re-create these metal-framed tables, each with soft-cornered triangular tops and sold as a set of five in varying heights and colours.
Stunning to look at and incfredibly distinctive, the tables certainly aren't going to be cheap to buy. Expect a price tag of around £3,800.
