Yesterday, we featured the 1960s-styling of the Pentax Optio I-10 camera. In the comments related to that camera, another new launch was pointed out – the Pentax Optio H90 digital camera.
It's not quite as obviously retro as the I-10, but it does look like it could have come straight out of the Dieter Rams design catalogue – the kind of stylish but functional design the great man was known for. We suspect that's no accident – and Rams should indeed be flattered by his continuing influence.
It's a tasty little camera too, offering up a 12.1-megapixel sensor, 5x wide angle optical zoom, a 2.7-inch LCD, 720p HD video recording, face detection, smile capture, blink detection, shake reduction and plenty of auto settings.
It should be available from next month, priced just short of the £150 mark. yes, good design doesn't have to cost a fortune.

I really hope we’re seeing a trend towards retro styling in modern electronics, with this and the LG telly you featured the other day. Surely there’s a sizeable niche market for this kind of stuff – there must be plenty of people who want modern functionality with a classic look.
