A design that could only have come out of the 1970s – this Pfaffle alarm clock lamp, which is up for grabs on eBay for not a lot of cash.
According to the seller, the lamp was designed by Knox for Pfaffle, a mix of chocolate brown plastic for the structure and brushed aluminium for the lamp section. Not just a lamp though – this is an alarm clock too.
Yes, at the base is a rectangular perspex screen with a black plastic face, digital numbers glowing in green, with three small black plastic buttons on the right hand side of the alarm clock to adjust time and alarm, while a small black plastic dial on the left hand side sets the alarm ring volume.
The lamp is described as being in good condition and in full working order, with a few 'age related scratches and marks', which are shown on the images on the page. The price is currently at just £4.20, which sounds like a good deal for something so unusual.
