I don't know the designer or the designer, but this desk lamp from the 1970s on eBay is quite an interesting little thing.
A desk lamp that screams the era, it stands just under 9 inches tall, with a globe shade made of chrome lacquered white on the inside, while the stem and base are made of a piece of transparent perspex with circular cutouts on each side. There are cut outs at the side, so you can adjust the light.
Described as being 'in good condition and in full working order', the price right now is just 99 pence, which is a bargain any day of the week.
I don’t know who designed it, but this was called the Bubble Lamp. Habitat put it back in production about 10 years ago in a couple of different colours (but not chrome). I’ve got one of those Habitat ones in white sitting next to me as I write this.
‘Course an original chrome one would be just the thing for the living room 🙂
