The first win for Porsche at the Le Mans race was in 1970, with Hans Herrmann and Richard Attwood driving a 917 K – and 40 years on, the P'6612 Dashboard Le Mans 1970 Watch by Porsche Design celebrates that significant event.

It's a watch based on the original car, with a dial styled after the car's instrumentation, a perforated calfskin strap with red stitching to replicate the steering wheel, the car's number 23 on the face and to finish things off, a brushed, polished titanium case, an automatic chronograph movement, and tachometer scale.

To coincide with the car's model number, 917 will be made, each sold with a scale model of the 917 K and a booklet signed by the race winners themselves. Price? Not yet confirmed, but we suspect 'not cheap'.
