We've featured a few of the Kaiser idell modernist reissue lamps of late, but even the smallest of the range is a bit hefty in price. So thank goodness for the John Lewis Penelope Task Lamp.
It's very much the same 1920s Bauhaus look, but with a much cheaper price. For that smaller pile of cash, you get a choice of colours for the metal shade and base, with a curved stem in what looks like chrome, as well as a chunk button.
£40 is that affordable price.
