Not just the man for cool seating and space age lighting, Verner Panton turned his creative hand to many other mediums, including textiles. This 1970s Grande rug by Verner Panton, which has just been reissued, is one such design.
A timeless and eye-catching piece, the rug uses the Grande textile, which was produced by Panton for Swiss textile firm Mira-X back in 1975, reproduced here in a mix of brown and sand. Not just a pretty face either, with real quality in construction too by VerPan, with the rug made of 100 per cent New Zealand pure wool.
The whole thing is a considerable 220cm in size, with an asking price of- wait for it – £1,245. Classic design rarely comes cheap I'm afraid.
