A few of these pop up on eBay, usually with high 'buy it now' price tags. Thankfully, this midcentury-style sewing box comes with a low starting price.
Original and probably dating from the 1960s, the lids and drawers are made of wood and plywood finished with oak laminate, with the storage including a main bottom compartment divided in two, two middle drawers opening on the side and two top drawers. The top drawers have been divided into three small compartments each, the central drawers have brown plastic button handles, with a central oak handle and angled oak legs finishing things off.
Condition is said to be 'fair', with age related marks and scratches on the lids and the left hand side one doesn’t close shut. There is also a large chip on the laminate of the left side middle drawer and other bits and pieces of wear – see the description and images for the lowdown of all of that.
On the plus side, it is currently cheap. Just £6.26 right now.
