Barker and Stonehouse’s furniture often seems old-fashioned rather than retro, but actually they do have some good stuff such as the Festival Dining Furniture Range.
The furniture is midcentury in style and like the John Lewis Seasons range we featured last week, it is made from oak veneers with solid oak legs and has the subtle curves you’d associate with that period. What sets this range apart from others is that there is a choice of dining chairs; either the wooden ones pictured above or upholstered versions. The upholstered chair is covered in an olive green material, which might not be my first choice of colour, but is entirely appropriate to the period look.
The range is currently on offer with the table costing £369, the wooden chairs £75 each and the upholstered £129 each from Barker and Stonehouse. (And should you be interested, the large stag statue is also available to buy there too).
