A new design from Marimekko is always a cause for celebration but this Helsinki print is extra special.
Helsinki is, of course, the original home of Marimekko and has been awarded the title of World Design City in 2012. This design shows some of the architectural highlights of the city, executed in a sketchy 1950s style. The colour scheme also helps play up the fifties feel: pick from the powder blue picture, or a muddy green.
As you'd expect the design is available across a wide range of products such as mugs and tea towels. To give an indication of price, the fabric is £37.50 a metre.

Hi, nice to see some stuff from homeland.
I don’t want to sound picky, but let’s correct the facts. Helsinki is not the city of culture 2012 as far as i know. It is actualy World Design Capital 2012. You see that last year our other nice city called Turku was European capital of culture 2011 along with Tallin, capital of Estonia.
Nonetheless realy good work with this superb webpage, lovin it!!
